Katja Becker

Katja Becker, born in 1982, has been working as an investigative filmmaker since 2009 and researches topics such as factory farming, gold mining, palm oil, charcoal, uranium mining or agricultural pesticides. She studied project management at the VWA Hamburg after training as a nurse in 2002. As a nurse, she has been on numerous, often volunteer, missions around the world since 2003 until today, which opened her eyes for the first time. As a filmmaker, she is on a deep search to expose exploitation, injustice, environmental degradation and human rights violations, with the goal of showing resistance and hope to the world. With the foundation of her production company ujuzi.media GmbH in Lüneburg, she wants to tell undiscovered stories in exciting, creative and new formats, creating an impact.
