António Cascais

Antonio Cascais works internationally as a freelance writer for television, radio, print and online media.

He studied journalism and history at the University of Dortmund and has worked mainly as a television journalist in Germany since the 1980s.

In addition to Cascai's interest in Lusophone countries (Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Sao Tomé and Príncipe) as well as Brazil and his country of origin Portugal, his focus is on investigative journalism, business journalism, cultural journalism and journalism on migration and development issues. 

Awards:
1991: 2nd place radio award of the "Medienpreis Entwicklungspolitik", for "Who buys the little bananas?"
