Efthymia Zymvragaki works as a director, writer and director of photography.
Attracted by social and gender issues, she opens a personal approach to complex and less known realities with her artistic and sensitive eye.
After graduating in Psychology from the University of Crete, Greece in 2001, Zymvragaki first studied photography at the Institut "d'Estudis Fotogràfics de Catalunya" in Barcelona, Spain (2003-2005) and finally completed a Master in Artistic Production and Research at the University of Barcelona (2011-2012).
Zymvragakis Filmkarriere begann während ihres Masterstudiums durch künstlerische Arbeiten und die Zusammenarbeit mit Angelo Orlando für die Produktionsfirma „Gris Medio“. Parallel dazu arbeitete sie zwischen 2010 und 2015 als Fotografie-Lehrerin an der Filmschule „Nou Prodigi“. Sie ist Alumni der „IDFA Academy“, des „CIRCLE Women Doc Accelerator“ und der „Acció Producció – Dones Visuals“.
