Removal of the foreskin is the most common operation performed on male children - whether for religious, cultural or medical reasons. In Africa, the WHO uses boy circumcision in the fight against AIDS. But more and more doctors say the harm is greater than the medical benefits. Many also criticize the practice as interfering with boys' right to self-determination. How useful is circumcision really?
